Jacked the rear up by the differential (with a piece of wood to protect the pumpkin) then put the jack stands under the axels where they meet the shocks. Did the same thing in the front. I split mine in half (not from using diff as a jack point) on my 86.5 and I know of a few other guys who have done the same. I wouldn't want to put any stress on that subframe when it could be avoided.
